No, the free 20-minute connection call is an option for those interested in learning more about me and my approach in order to decide whether I am the right fit for you. But if you prefer to start with a 50 minute session, simply click the Book Now link at the top of my website and select that option.
I offer phone or video sessions depending on your preference.
Either way, this is your time - to share, explore, and make a plan for the future.
You are in the driver's seat.
Therapy sessions are conducted by phone or using JaneApp, a video therapy platform that protects your privacy through encrypted communication.
Join your session from whatever location ensures that we can hear each other and makes you feel comfortable sharing your experience. I work in a private office to ensure the confidentiality of our discussions.
You can join from your desktop, tablet, or phone. If possible, try to join a minute or two beforehand to test your internet connection, camera, and microphone.
Additionally, some clients like to spend a moment or two before session to jot down any thoughts that they would like to bring to the session, but this is not necessary, just a preference!
If you have any issues connecting, you can reach me at 587-800-0525.

My therapeutic approach is flexible to respond to your unique context and preferences. I have experience working with the following approaches:
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy – identifying and challenging thoughts, beliefs, and behaviours that are not serving you.
Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy – learning to observe your thoughts, emotions, and other present-moment experiences without judging or reacting to them.
Narrative Therapy – recognizing the stories that shape your life and deciding which ones suit you and which ones you can let go. Separating the problem and the person is the heart of narrative therapy: "the problem is the problem, the person is not the problem".
Internal Family Systems - looking at the different "parts" or sides of a person's mind. These parts include ones that hold onto past hurts and tough feelings like anger or shame. There are also parts that try to manage or shield the person from feeling those difficult emotions. In IFS, we work with all these parts to help the person heal and find balance.
Flash Technique- an evidence-based trauma reprocessing modality that does not require imaginal or conscious exposure to the memory. Rather, it uses containment during reprocessing to reduce the risk of activation and retraumatization.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a therapy used to help heal perinatal trauma. Through guided eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation, EMDR helps reprocess and integrate distressing memories, reducing their emotional impact and supporting healing and recovery.

The frequency and total number of sessions will depend on your unique needs.
The nature of the problem or problems that you are navigating and your objectives for therapy will be considered. The number of sessions usually ranges from 5 to 20 for most clients but there is no set minimum or maximum.
It is my goal to help get you healthy, happy, and functioning as quickly as possible. This may take more or less time depending on you and your circumstances.
After addressing their acute needs, some clients also settle into a regular schedule as part of their self care plan (e.g. once every 1 or 2 months).
Serving clients in Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia, I specialize in perinatal mental health and women's wellness. My passion is supporting women through preconception, pregnancy, postpartum, and pregnancy/infant loss. Healing motherhood is my life's work.
